Nana's Custard Cream Biscuits

Biscuit Ingredients
½ cup butter
3 tablespoons castor sugar
5 heaped tablespoons self-raising flour
4 heaped tablespoons custard powder
1 egg
½ teaspoon vanilla essence

Icing Ingredients
¼ cup butter
1 teaspoon custard powder
2 tablespoons icing sugar

Method
For biscuits - beat butter and sugar to a cream; add egg and vanilla essence and beat again. Stir in flour and custard powder. Roll into balls, press down gently with floured fork. Bake in a moderate oven until firm. When cool, join together with icing.

For icing – mix all ingredients together.
